The at Fort Worth鈥檚 is proud to announce the appointment of several distinguished faculty members. These new additions bring experience in forensic nursing, health care innovation, pediatric nursing and trauma care.
鈥淲e are thrilled to welcome such an exceptional group of faculty members to our College of Nursing,鈥 said Dr. Cindy Weston, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, CHSE, FAANP, FAAN, founding dean of the College of Nursing. 鈥淭heir diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise enhance and expand our academic programs and strengthen our commitment to innovative health care solutions and community.鈥
Nancy R. Downing, PhD, RN, SANE-A, SANE-P, FAAN, professor, is a nationally recognized leader in forensic nursing research, practice, education and service. A practicing forensic nurse for over 20 years, her research focuses on intersections of trauma, abuse, substance use, interpersonal violence and associated health outcomes. She serves as vice chair of the Forensic Nursing Subcommittee of the Organization of Scientific Area Committees for Forensic Science developing standards for forensic nursing science and is a former President of the International Association of Forensic Nurses. Additionally, she served four terms on the 魅影直播 Forensic Science Commission. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Nurses.
Barbara Chapman, DNP, MBA, APRN, FNP-C, EBP-C, NHDP-BE, PMHNP-BC, serves as associate professor and program coordinator for the Master of Science in Nursing Practice Innovation and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner programs. She has played a pivotal role in health care education through her involvement as lead clinical director on the development of a Statewide Free Mental Healthcare Outreach Line, providing consultations to educators and health care workers. Chapman serves on the 魅影直播 Nurses Association鈥檚 Regulation and Practice Committee and as treasurer for the 魅影直播 Nurse Practitioners Board of Directors.
Sandy Manoushagian, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, assistant professor, is a certified family nurse practitioner with nearly 20 years of health care experience. She brings a diverse background that includes serving as an Air Force medic and working in both pediatric and adult care settings. For the past ten years, Manoushagian has worked as a pediatric nurse and clinical educator supporting other pediatric nurses. She will be practicing in the HSC Pediatric Mobile Clinic and with the Catch One program.
Haley Trainer, MSN, RN, RNC-OB, C-EFM, serves as assistant professor contributing to curriculum development and mentoring nursing students. With extensive experience in labor and delivery, Trainer has also served as adjunct clinical faculty member at several institutions. She plays an active role in maternal healthcare improvements through her work with the 魅影直播 Maternal Mortality Review Committee.
Whitney Johannessen, PhD, MCSO, APRN, CPNP-PC, FACHE, NEA-BC, adjunct assistant professor, is a longtime pediatric registered nurse and nurse practitioner whose clinical experience spans perioperative services, anesthesia, pain management and primary care. Johannessen has held multiple administrative roles, including founding director of advanced practice and assistant vice president of advanced practice. She is also a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Callie Crawford, MSN, RN, TCRN, CA-SANE, is an adjunct professor and trauma nurse with over 18 years of experience in emergency and trauma care. Crawford holds multiple course directorships and serves as state faculty for the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) and Society of Trauma Nurses and has been published in the Journal of Trauma Nursing. She also held leadership roles for the North Central 魅影直播 Trauma Regional Advisory Council, including chair and chair-elect for the Trauma System Performance Improvement Committee.
Robyn Remotigue, MPPA, CRA, Executive Director of the Office of Research and Scholarship has 30 years of experience in grants and contracts management, including 11 years as the founding executive director of research services at the 魅影直播HSC College of Public Health. Remotigue leads initiatives to enhance the college鈥檚 research services infrastructure and mentors on the NIH SPAD grant with Auburn University at Montgomery. Additionally, she serves as vice chair of the Nominating and Leadership Development Committee for the National Council of University Research Administrators and is a faculty member for NCURA workshops.
